Spring Sports

Ingrid and Juan played soccer this Spring, and Angie played basketball.  Juan loves soccer and had a great time.  This is his second season to play, and he has really improved over last year.  This was Ingrid's first time to play soccer and did a great job.  She is fast and competitive so sports are good activities for her.  Although she was laughing and all smiles while playing, she says basketball is still her favorite sport.  We wanted Angie to have the opportunity to also play soccer this Spring but the city league didn't offer any teams for kids over the age of 12.  So, she tried basketball.  She didn't like it but still gave it a try.  We keep telling the kids that is just fine not to like something but you need to at least try.  By putting them in different sports and activities, we hope it will help them to determine what they do enjoy.  So far we have tried gymnastics and hip hop dance at the YMCA.  The girls did ballet for a year at a dance studio.  For sports, the kids have tried basketball, soccer, and swim team.  We will see this Fall what they would like to try next.
