Christmas Eve

The kids were so excited to celebrate Christmas, both the religious side and secular side of the holiday.  The kids understand and recognize the true meaning of Christmas and Jesus's birth.  All three of them accepted Jesus at VBS during their first full summer here in the US.  One of their traditions is to lay a cross under the Christmas tree.  We did not have a dinner theatre at our church this year and really missed it.  We did dress-up and enjoy the Christmas Eve service at our church with Grandma and Grandpa.  Our tradition has always been to eat Chinese for dinner.  After our first Christmas, we learned that take-out was the way to go!
After dinner, it was time to open their one Christmas present.  It was always a pair of new pajamas.  This is a tradition I grew up doing.
Then we were off to set out cookies and milk for Santa.  Santa even got a special note this year!  We couldn't forget the reindeer so they got carrots to eat!.  The kids had a spend the night party in our room and watched a movie while Dainis went out and set out all of the gifts.

Christmas morning has always been a huge celebration with our family.  Although the kids have always enjoyed it, behavior during the holiday season and on Christmas morning continues to improve.  Although there are always daily challenges we are still working through, you can see the overall improvement as you look back.
