Juan recently celebrated his 9th birthday, and it is hard to believe he is already nine years old! Like Ingrid, he celebrated his birthday at Chuck E. Cheese with four friends. Two friends were from church and two were from his soccer team. Because Ingrid and Juan's birthdays is so close to each other, we want to make sure we do things equally. It was his first birthday party, and he loved it! He decided he wanted to do Batman so his invitations, party decorations, and paper products were all Batman. The funny thing is that although Juan likes Batman, Spiderman, and Superman, he chose Batman because the cake came with a mask! After having a girl party and then a boy party, girls and boys act so differently. The girls all stayed together to play games and really enjoyed each other. For the boys, they were happy going and doing their own thing with playing games and didn't really stay together. It will be interesting to see what their birthday parties are like next year. Our kids have an older brother (Luis) and sister (Sandra) that were adopted by another family in WI. Sandra was able to make it in time for Juan's party. Due to a special soccer camp, Luis arrived the next day. It was so special that Sandra could be at Juan's first American birthday party!
